Sharing the love

This award is extra special because Crystal created it in honor of the donor who saved her sons life. Her son Noah had to have a heart transplant when he was just over a month old. This award is supposed to help raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

So, here are the rules Crystal gave:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.”

Got tagged by Abie. Thanks sis! Now i would like to share the love to my new blogmates, Angie, Chie, Ev and Melisse.

I love...

This week has been another milestone for Elyse.. she just made "pee pee" on her potty seat for the first time. That was last night! On the second day since we seriously started her potty training. Yeah i know.. she should started earlier, but of course I have excuses! :) When we we're still in Morocco she's not interested to sit down on her potty and I don't even want to push her if she's not ready. I know...the right time will come, I don't need to hurry but should introduce it to her step by step. In her case, now is the best time... even if she don't feel the urge to "pee pee" or "poop" she will ask me to come with her in the toilet so she can do her thing. That's my girl!

Barney days is over! Backyardigans here we come! At first, it was Pablo.. then Austin.. and now Tasha.. Who's next? Tyrone? Uniqua? Well, she love them all.. When she wants to dance, she will hold my hands and dance like the Backyardigans.. at the end of the song, she will pose like Pablo.. stretching her right arm, bending her head on the right and lifting her left foot. Ohh, I just heard that she's asking daddy to buy her a cd. Hmm.. I just told her to "poop" on her potty tomorrow, then maybe we can get a cd for her. And she said "opo mommy". Good!

Do you like to play in the slide? "Slide! Slide! Slide! Yey!!!" She's always excited to play in the slide.. actually, we are her favorite slide! She would always ask me or her daddy to sit down in the couch and stretch our legs. So, we decided to get her a slide and as expected she's enjoying it. She's not the only one playing there, all her toys are also loving to slide. :)

Happy and safe weekend to everyone!

Daycare hunting is still on!

As mentioned in my previous blog post, we've visited the daycare center in Boulevard Grand Allee yesterday. I wasn't expecting that it was a home daycare since it was affiliated to Au pied de lechelle. Anyway, the owner is nice but I don't really want to enroll my daughter in a home daycare. If that's the case, then, it's better for her to stay in the house with me. And while waiting for a slot in the CPE, I've done this weekly plan for my little girl. I want her to be occupied and learn to socialize with other kids. Although, I'm not seeing any problem with her behavior when playing with other kids, but I just think that it will be better for her. Actually, she's really a nice playmate and "easy" toddler, as long as I'm around her. Yes, she's so attached to me, the major reason why I wanted to put her in the daycare. By the way, here are some of her latest pictures while playing with Ate Misha. I thought my daycare hunting is finally over! Well, I guess it just started. Anyway we're not in a hurry, I'm just hoping to get the best for Elyse.

Elyse and Quebec city on Father's day!

I have been scouting for daycares around the area and so far i like the Les Canaries and Au Pied de lechelle in Boulevard Rome. Both are subsidized by the government and has a long wait list. It pissed me off that most daycare centers here will let you know that it usually take a year or two before getting a place or will ask you to leave your name and phone number so they can call you once there's a slot available. I was in total panic knowing the situation and I guess I'm still lucky when Au Pied de lechelle in Boulevard Grand Allee finally informed me that they have place for Elyse in the afternoon! I think the time and schedule is best for my little girl since it's her first time to stay in the daycare center. So, this afternoon at 4pm we will visit the place and I hope the place is good for Elyse.

We also enrolled Elyse at Le Petit Gym where she will start her first class this Saturday. I'm sure she will not let the day pass without visiting Funtopia which is just beside the Le Petit Gym. We visited Funtopia last week and she had fun playing with other kids, but most of all her favorite slide is there. Now, she always want to be out in the sun, running around the park, enjoy the water in the pool and swinging all day long!By the way, last father's day we visited Quebec city with some friends here. It was a charming city! We've been to Sainte Anne de Beaupre, Chateau Frontenac, we even rode a cable car going to Mont Morency and watched the cycling competition in the city.

Ready for summer?

Every summer, it's always fun to go out and explore! And now that summer season is just around the corner, we are also getting ready to go out and visit the Laurentian mountains. We are planning to spend our night there and bring out our tent for camping. We will also bring our goggles so we can enjoy our swimming.

It's just an hour drive from our place where we can enjoy the boat ride while sightseeing. And for our trip we will need binoculars, sunglasses for eye protection and additional memory card for our camera. I got all these from Opticsplanet.com anything I need for our summer camping and swimming are available here. So, i guess our summer will be more fun and exciting!

Perfect lighting...

Part of moving is looking around for lightings that would match my furnitures in our new home. I came across with fine art lamps that would definitely look great in my dining area. I want this nice chandelier hanged above my dining table. I just love the ambiance and wonderful effect!

On the other hand, George Kovacs lightings has various table and floor lamps added to his wide range of indoor and outdoor lightings. I'm just excited to use the lightings to decorate my house. I believe his table and floor lamps will be gorgeous in my living room.

Whereas the artistic designs of Minka Lavery lightings caught my attention. Her collections are composed of contemporary and traditional designs and also known as energy efficient. I can't wait to do the finishing touches in my bedroom! Now, I have a perfect lightings in my house.

Pool party on Daddy's Birthday

I'm sorry guys for not being around for quite sometime, I'm so busy with lots of things. I missed blogging! Anyway, for my regular visitors thanks again. To all fathers out there, belated happy fathers day. Thanks for the tags and I will try to do it soon.

We had a pool party last Saturday and it was fun! Elyse enjoyed playing in water using her balls and toys while the birthday celebrant enjoyed the food and swimming even the water is a bit cold at 25 degrees. Uncle Edwin, Auntie Vivian, Ate Mariz and Suzette prepared "sinigang na hipon", chicken barbeque, ginataang halo-halo, fruit salad and even bought donuts and cake. On the other hand I prepared their favorite "caldereta" and brought ice cream for dessert. It was another "full" day! :) Happy birthday again honey! Good health and more birthdays to come. Cheers!

Another one coming up!

We're finally home! Last Saturday was a long day! The furnitures were delivered but was only halfway done assembling everything around 7pm so, we decided to took a rest and extended our stay at Auntie's place until Sunday. We started our day by hearing mass at St. Patrick's and picked up some goodies at Kim Hour, a Chinese store along Van Horne. We bought our Thai rice there along with other Filipino products like bangus belly, longganisa, tocino, monggo, purefoods corned beef, chippy, ding dong, hopia and pancit canton. While waiting for Tito Edwin and kids, we sat at the bench in front of "Bahay Kubo" resto and tasted their yummy version of "karioka" and "taro pearl shake". It really feels home, right? Van Horne and Cote des Neiges are the places here in Montreal where most Pinoys are residing.
Even my husband is a bit hesitant, that night we've decided to finally move in to our apartment to check if everything is working. Good for me so, I can start my Monday morning fixing everything.
Well now, I'm done and even our internet and cable tv is working. We've just finished watching the NBA finals. It really feels good!

By the way, it is my husband's birthday this Saturday! This Friday, we have a dinner date with our close friends and relatives while on Sunday, we will have a whole day tour in Quebec city. I'm still thinking what to do on Saturday, is it a brunch out at Tutti Frutti? or Casey's? Let's see!
That's it for now, have a nice day everyone. Thanks for reading and happy blogging! :)

LP # 10 Pag-iisang Dibdib

This is my wedding at San Agustin Church last December 18, 2004. Fol Rana is our photographer. I did the lay-out of the pictures when i just started using photoshop.

Ito ang kasal ko nung December 18, 2004 sa San Agustin Church. Si Fol Rana ang aming photographer at ako ang nag lay-out ng mga pictures nung ako ay nagsisimula pa lang gumamit ng photoshop.

What to do in Paris?

I'm wanting to write this for quite sometime now but I didn't have enough time. I guess i need to start writing and save it as draft before i forget everything. Here it is:

On our first day, we've visited the Arc de Triomphe along Champs-Elysees avenue. It was of course stunning especially at night, the avenue was the home for shops of well-known designer like Louis Vuitton. It was Sunday when we arrived so it's expected that most shops are closed, I've only seen and remembered Sephora as one of the shops open for business that day.

That same day, we immediately visited the Eiffel tower, a breathtaking piece of art. It was already 9pm but the sun is still up so we looked around Eiffel, tried the ice cream sold at the booth along the way and had diner at Fukoshima, a Japanese resto nearby Eiffel. We ordered beef with cheese and chicken yakitori, miso soup, california maki and rice. The food was delicious! Everything was really good! And the price is very affordable, you can enjoy their set meals from 10 euros.

The second day was reserved for our Disneyland tour, we really enjoyed this part! Elyse was overwhelmed seeing Mickey, Minnie, Sylvester and Pooh! The lively music of the parade lighted up her face and made her dance with her hands swaying in the air just like those mascots. We had our lunch at one of the restos inside the Disney park, with grilled burger, roasted chicken and fries that tasted really good. Sorry but I forgot the name of the resto, now i need to go through our pictures and check it again. The afternoon was more fun when we visited Snow white and the seven dwarfs in their castle. By the train, we got inside the castle! It was really dark inside with bad witch, dragon, snow white and the dwarfs telling stories. It was like a nightmare! I even shut my eyes when bad witch was there! Elyse didn't cried but she is now afraid of "bad witch" and "dragon".

The afternoon parade made the queue for "It's a small world" shorter, so we grabbed the chance while Elyse enjoyed the boat ride and the show a lot. She kept on humming the song right after the show and asked me to sing "It's a small world" while she acted playing the violin. We did stop at the souvenir shop and Elyse didn't wanted to leave without Mickey/Minnie hugable in her hand. We also got a Disney shirt and hat for her. We also wanted to try the carousel ride but we're not patient to wait for an hour so, we just visited the Adventure Island instead and tried the Ice cream along Disneyland park. We bumped with Stitch, Goofy and Pluto along the way so Elyse and daddy had pictures with them.

Around 5pm when we decided to leave the park and headed directly to Fukoshima again, for the second time. After the sumptuous dinner, we're just on time to view the magnificent Eiffel tower at night, so we left to Trocadero for another picture perfect view of Eiffel.

to be continued.. :)

What i love most about being a mom?

I treasure everything I have in life most especially my daughter. This space couldn't be enough putting all in details but with this tag i need to mention some things i love most about being a mom:

My day starts with her smile. Greeting me "good morning mommy.." will make me smile some more.

Watching her grow makes me feel older but happier especially if she's learning to discover things by herself.

Her praying habit makes me feel more proud. Hoping that she'll grow up with fear and faith in Him.

My day is not complete without her giggles and laughter. She makes me laugh when she's dancing or singing along with her daddy.

Her thoughtfulness and sweetness makes me feel so blessed.

Thank you fellow mommies, Abie, MommyAllehs and Eds for this tag. :)

Ready to move!

We're 'finally' moving this weekend! Our furnitures will be delivered in the apartment this Saturday, so I should clean everything on Thursday and Friday. We also got the keys of the apartment after signing the 1 year contract of lease. We almost have everything we need except for knives, chopping board, pillows, blinds for the rooms and curtains for the living room. I will check Wall-mart this afternoon and hopefully get what i need.

Last night i noticed that my laptop cannot detect my external hard disk! even if i changed the cable! hu hu hu.. all our latest pictures are saved there, including our Europe and Montreal tour! :( Most of all.. my digicraps are also there!! :( Hoping we can still recover the pictures!

Another story, we are planning to watch the F1 race here in Montreal this June but the weather is not cooperating. If it's not cloudy, it's raining! One friend told us we better postpone our plan and instead prepare for the event next year, I even asked 'why'? Because next year is the 30th year of F1 race so it's gonna be a 'HUGE' celebration. And I guess it's not really possible since our moving date is the same as the schedule of the race! :(
